Hard not to feel a rocked by the sweeping changes in the States. Whatever you feel about him and of right or left politics, this is what resonates with me as far as where we are as a nation:
“But the people would not listen to Samuel. They said, ‘No, we want a king to rule over us. Then we will be the same as all the other nations. Our king will lead us. He will go before us and fight our battles.’ Samuel listened to the people and then repeated their words to the Lord. The Lord answered, ‘Listen to them and give them a king.’”
Some of you may know it didn’t really go that well in the end. However, my ultimate foundation is most definitely tied to a better king and one who cares about the weak and vulnerable, like me.
Don’t worry. I don’t plan to write about politics much at all.
