Continuing on with my current & evolving ✒️ analog system (link below). For the time being I have moved my personal calendar1 to another Moleskine pocket cahier notebook. I have a 🗓️ page for each month in a traditional month view format. Starting from the back I have a bullet journal style monthly ‘future log’: i.e. tasks scheduled for each month. (Plus a distant future / someday-maybe list).

Once or twice a month, I sync this with other people and family calendars etc. Each week I review the tasks in the back and the events on the month page, and transfer to my capture notebook as a weekly plan. This weekly view looks similar to my very first setup I posted about in 2024 (i.e. same as a Hobonichi Weeks page).

It sounds like a lot…but it’s not really that onerous. It gives me:

  1. A monthly lookahead and task schedule
  2. A weekly cycle of reviewing priorities
  3. The calendar notebook ≈ longish term tasks / events, look at infrequently
  4. The capture notebook ≈ short term tasks / events, look at frequently
  5. Intentionality

1I still use Outlook for work stuff: can’t escape that. However I do make a hard copy print at the start of the week as a planning excercise to scribble on as the week progresses.
