The word that sums up this week is: expansion: my responsibilities at work shifted up a gear this week. This has come with a lot of anxiety and feeling overwhelmed and low confidence; but I have managed to take a little step back and (start to) rethink how I have structured the team and what I shouldn’t do as an individual 🤔. In This expansion needs to be accompanied by a mindset shift about how I deliver through others.

A top moment for me was seeing our new wood-burning stove1 🔥 being installed. Something I’m looking forward to next week is actually trying it! That was also almost my weekly word: soot. Lot’s of it covering a lot of things 🫨.

My week headlines

🧠 Understanding: More leadership transition stuff!

🧶 Creating & cultivating: A better weekly plan setup at work. Also getting a new notebook ready: a momentous occasion in a very stationery geek way. Going from an A5 Hobonichi graph notebook 📔 to A5 MD Paper dot grid. Gotta love Japanese paper. Also making a zine about slowing work down.

📺 Consuming: Some lovely cointreau 🍸; finished Life in Pieces with @alice: what an abrupt ending!

🔆 Connecting: Had a church family day on Sat and a lunch with some friends from church on Sun 🥗: was nice to hang out

✒️ Most used pen & ink combo: Pilot Custom 823 with 🟦 Sailor Potsu Potsu

🏹 One thing for future self: I need to think carefully about structuring the team and the responsibilities I can delegate
